The Abyss

Solacethepoet 2002 (South Africa)

Free verse
with arms of hope
relentlessly wide open.
we were trying to bridge
the gap between despair
and bliss.
Endlessly running from
the darkness falling into
the abyss.
we gave it all we had,
before it consumed all
we are.
