Many To Live Long Gone Years Ago

Many to live long gone years ago,
On a planet known as Earth.
And inhabited by creatures,
Only a mother would dare claim to love.
There amongst them all had been,
One creature given...
Intelligence, wisdom and common sense.
Leaving this to be believed,
From one generation to the next.
On and one this rumor was accepted.
To never suspect or object.
If lies were sold to tell them told.

Many to live on planet Earth.
For long gone years to know them to go.
With a doing to move forward.
Done to connect this movement,
As making progressive steps.
Have to sitting somewhere,
Scratching their aware and conscious heads.
To ask themselves...
'Why does it seem,
The best times remembered to have lived...
Are those times only the elderly remember?
And that seems to be in between,
Their prescribed medications are taken.

'Old guy?
Whatever it is that keeps you smiling,
About those days and times you reminisce?
Has got to do with a diet or a daily routine,
That you refuse to stop doing.
What on Earth is this miracle you have found?'

'The miracle of drugs.
Prescription drugs.
And the best around to get.
Especially at my age,
When experiences to have had in the past?
Compared to what's going on now...
In these absolutely crazed days?
I do all that I can,
Not to laugh from Sunrise to Sunset.'

'Now...
That's crazy. That's nuts!'

'Young man?
Stand with me.
And see 'your' reality from 'my' perspective.
How many old folks do you see,
Chasing each other with guns?
Driving miles and miles away,
From where they live.
With it to claim,
Someone minding their own business...
Is a threat to their way of life.
And you call ME crazy?
You have no idea,
How wonderful it feels...
To be out of my mind.
Whenever I wish.
And legally time released at my control.'

'That's not fair.'

'Neither is lieing to yourself.
But hey...
I am not one,
Living to be accepted or impress.
And...
I love it!'
