DECK ORATOR

Who's holding the cards shuffling to gambol with our lives?
Pulled from the bottom of the pack in playing sight
Many always getting flipped when speedily dealt
Some for ransom... some ran some
Some ran out sum... ran some on felt
Is this now reality to which most hop on board as sacrificial pawns?
Draft away any not in check when they battle frontlines drawn

Who's holding the cards shuffling to gamble with our lives?
Comedy set pack with jokers and gestures in bad vibes
Is ours the role of the dice rigged to repeatedly sprawl?
Never get to play just getting played
Rattled hand fingers as we spread and fall
It is hard to find any point to any of this as my years grow old
Hard to contain red emotions thrown face down with the fold

Now I hold the cards for a brighter future to become my fate
Hand to my chest not exposing what's at stake
Never again from me will another jack pot
I don't intend to play just to be rich
Nor play poor me, instead see their tar rot
I am simply going to take back what's mind and soul from your grip
Raised ante see me tick on, while left shouldering bags of chips

I am looking beyond written 'histories' for truths that are intentionally disguised within words by way of using modern terms more…
