My love, linger around a little longer.
A lot is lost in abrupt departures
A long-lasting gaze.
A hug that lasts a fraction of a second longer
So much love is lost, when you refuse to loiter.

I see a glimpse of you in so many things;
The quite wondering in your eyes if it's real
Would we still be here when the sun comes up?
Or forgotten in the darkness' gentle caress?
If you are to go, make the going last a little longer.


Don't you feel me hold on as you push away?
Don't you feel my heart break?
Should I write you another poem, will it suffice?
Or tell you another fact obscure?
Tell me, darling, whatever it will take you to make you wait


There, by the door, hesitate
The moment you step out, the magic breaks.
I want to remember you, as is, leaving, by the door frame;
You, being unsure, is the best I'll ever have.
Do not mouth the word, goodbye, wait, I'm sure something better will arrive.

But these moments may endure even when you're long gone.
I will remember how heavy your steps were;
I will lie myself, on your behalf.
It's alright, I'd remember you at your fairest,
Hesitant, in your convictions, in your little evil self......
