Rats

Up in the attic lifeless they lay
The poor things had short lives
Now they are still, now and everyday
As seasons come and go they start dropping by fives
From the frigid winters to blazing summers
Untouched as they rest for this long, long time
Unfortunate? Yes indeed, but just
Don’t worry they lived their prime
