Dog gone

On a grim Sunday morning while taking a stroll
I passed a gray car speeding out of control
Mourning the thought of what would have been
If I payed attention and stopped it from hitting your chin
Rushing our walk on a rainy night moving to fast to realize the sight
Racing around the block coming in like a hawk at the speed of light
The vehicle leaves me crying on the floor next to my dog
Depressed filled with fright all I can do is pray to my god
