I knew you when—a lifetime ago
Upon the seas, where billows blow
And fill my sails on waves that flow
Exploring oft, away we’ll go
Adventures near and far away
Adventures for another day
Adrift and lost at sea for days
A fog erupts into a blinding haze
The lanterns burn, the horns they blow
Upon the tidal waves, we’ll go
But dashed upon the jagged rocks
My flesh is torn, my bones are rocked
My spirit groans, my breath is bare
No air to breathe, without her there
I knew her when the wind was fair
