"The Detriment of Stress"

They say I’m blessed, that I should be thankful and think of my blessings.
That’s not how it works, that’s not helpful.
Feelings are a real, delicate idea.
And, stress detriments this idea, like a cigarette does to a pair of lungs.
Stress hurts and I fear that it won’t “get better.”
Stress hurts and it’s hard to “find an alternate way to deal with stress.”
I fear that I can’t do it.
I feel the hyperventilations; they’re coming fast.
I CAN'T “CALM DOWN!”
And I let it out.
I’ve finished my work and it’s going to start all over again.
I fear that I can’t go through this for much longer, but I continue to try, and fall again.
