OUT OF THE DEEP, DARK NIGHT

Ruby Yvette Jenkins 1898 (United States) – 1992 (United States)

Out of the deep, dark night
There shines as star.
Light scintilates from every ray afar,
And from the vaulted dome so vast and wide,
I hear Him gently say, "I'll be your Guide."

"Fear not the tossing waves that fiercely roll;
O'er even these the Father hath control.
Feint not because you cannot see the shore
Lean heavily on Me and trust Me more."

Now sweet, that in the night He calms our fears;
And in His loving kindness dries our tears;
Assures us every trial that comes He'll share;
"My child, lift up your heart,
I hear your prayer!"
