Transition

WALTER HAY 1956 (Reading Pa.)

The road up ahead, twisted and turned. Then blinded me, my eyes felt they burned. — My leash severed, the warmth exploded. The road up ahead, twisted and turned. The chill of the world, where once again, I returned. ——Walls of granite, windows of silk, surrounded.. The road where I stood— frozen, like dead.—with the first step, shoes full of lead. I wondered from the puddle, The one I first bled.——Where once I did follow, I was the one that I lead, the atoms I am trapped in, that gave me a head— Devised this new pathway, The road up ahead
