Tequila



Our spirituous love story
Was like a tequila shot
The liquor numbing my brain
Into an intoxicated state
Lemon reminding me bitterly
Every shot of love fades

That somber evening you told me
You and I were for forever
Oh darling
Forever felt too long for that misery

Now I raise my glass to everyone
Who knew we could never make it

But the salt on that glass rim
Will forever make me whim…

Vivien Kis was born in Hungary and grew up in Germany. Later on, she received a scholarship to pursue her degree in Economics at the University of the South in the US. After graduation, she has lived and worked in Prague, Rome, Dubai and Bali. She wrote her first poem when she was fifteen years old and has won numerous awards and prizes for her poetry such as the Daniil Pashkoff Prize and the Dream Quest One Competition.
