A toast to empty promises

My heart flutters, for just a brief moment. The thought of
Our lips pressing deeply into one another.
I truly believe, that when the desire is quenched,
my heart will start again.
You will set me free.
No longer bound by the shackles of lonely nightfalls,
or the isolated release of dawn,
my lips remain parched, awaiting your blissful kiss.
