racing mind

they never come and go,
but sit and circle your mind,
it feels like you can never escape,
these thoughts that hold you down,
they scorn you and tell you you aren’t good enough,
laughing in your face as you try to get up again,
these thoughts can never be controlled,
for you are the person making them.
