The Abyss

Depression draped in slumbers cloak
Sunlight lost along with hope

Eyes pressed tight, mind dark as night
A pain unknown when not in sight

To not be seen, to not be heard
As silence brings no caring word

In solitude, alone inside
Where anguish grows and struggles hide

A loneliness you will not share
Your burden kept from those who care
