A Seussian reminisciance

We're not all that old but the changes we've seen
from rotary phones to hash tags and memes

Our beehives are gone, Afros chopped cropped and tended
we've seen mullets and rat tails and braided extentions

Our shoes went from joggers to Jordans that jump
we've had Nike and Rebok and shoes you can pump

Three channels we got from a box big and bulky
now they hang on the wall like a thin piece of jerky

Mr. Cronkite told us the way that it is
no opinion or lies thrown into the mix

Roots opened our eyes to injustice and scars
Now ANTIFA is yelling "They have stars upon thars"

John Wayne passed away Matt Dillon is gone
our heroes are leaving and time marches on

Our aches and pains grow and more grey every year
and the bionic man needs a miracle ear

The bell bottoms, beads, and pukas we wore
the kids are now buying at the second hand store.

Time passes so fast and its scary I know
Take heart my old hippies Gods still in control

For as long as we're here and remembering when
We can teach where to go by where we have been

And When we are gone and our age our kids reach
they'll say we're not all that old but the changes we've seen
