Mental Instabilities

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Can truth to deny and fiction its existence,
Be also the cause and reason...
Mental instabilities,
Are now accepted as a normalcy achieved.
And regarded to be an accomplishment.
Done with it given encouragement.
To follow behind and find it stimulates,
A replacing sense to make.
When sense attempted to make these days,
Is the last thing on anyone's mind.
Wishing not to be associated,
With a being suspected to be...
Independently crazed!

'Hey...
Good to see you.
Where have you been?
I haven't seen you in a long time.
So...
What have you been up to these days?'

'Doing the best I can,
To stay away from conversations...
That make meaningful sense.
Others may overhear.
Especially in public.
Then accuse me of disturbing the peace.
And being a threat to a thoughtless humanity.'

'Times have dramatically changed.
These days...
People are using cellphones,
Just to talk to someone...
Standing right next to them.
But fear making eye contact.
To eliminate suspicions of having...
Inappropriate and infectious lustful desires.'

'How sick can this sickness get?'

'So sick it has become the rage.'
