LIFE FLOWS....
Scott Michael Potter 1966 (Grand Rapids, MI)
life flows headwaters
fountains of youth
babbling brooks stream
joining creeks and cricks
to form soothing roaring rivers
whitewaters shattering boulders
unto sloughs and breakwaters
bubbling over and tussling with brine
salty wombwaters surround penetrating
searching strains of freshwater remains
songs of refrains so oft heard crashing
ceaseless currents once fresh seeming new
recombined and revisioned odes and symphonies
washing shores clean tracing figures in sand
grabbing bits here and there to begin fancifully free
flights of soaring and celestial diving swimming loose
all these headwaters, these fountains of youthful footholds
footprints hefting our genetic markers unknowingly unwillingly
humanity continuing on without its reservations recognized
surfing memories crafting horse-galloping-crests glorious
tides and bubbles suds and foam watery tongues licking
we all end here in watery freedom to sanddance
Sun dancing sunsets and sunrises oh harmonies
ebbing and flowing eddying and swirling too
our universal songs blend weaving a rehashing
thenever stretching drained top beached grains
as if enwombed union perpetrating
thereamong we become utmost fine
vintner's choice for stormwaters
with which lovers fill spillovers
toasting past din of do-overs
kissing cheeks and lips
grabbing fools' gleam
countings now sooth
life flows deepwaters
