~75~
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Aging?
Aging is a gift.
And a blessing received to get it.
With it known,
Every second of every moment to witness...
Is one's business to stay,
Alert, aware and self testing one's own...
Consciousness.
With a keeping eyes exercised and prepared,
For those close up contacts.
That seem to appear and come from nowhere.
I can say for a fact.
Talking and laughing with and at myself,
Is more gratifying...
Than awaiting for someone else,
To get what is going on in my own mind.
Done then to attempt to explain,
Aging is a wonderful thing to experience.
Especially the cussing part of it.
Yes!
Many expect the older one gets,
Cussing for no reason...
Is an honor as if to validate,
Being annoyed and aggravated...
Has ended and no longer tolerated.
Ahhhh...75!
Who knew such bliss could be like this.
With respect to get and careless to give it.
But...
Will do it anyway.
Afterall,
Few suspect reaching to get 75 years old...
Is more like an adventure to explore,
What can be said and to who the truth...
Upsets to hear it told.
Then to laugh,
Watching and listening to reactions.
As those offended,
Try something to do or say that makes sense.
That seldom does!
And they call this easy stuff to eventually get,
Wisdom!
When I already had it much younger.
But then...
I didn't look the part.
Although,
Subjected to be called the 'wise-ass' I was!
