In The Field

Ronald Juan 2004 (Guanare)

So comes the boy and writes some poetry,
He laughs, runs, and sits next to an apple tree.
The field where he lies is so green,
And the wind and the skies make him feel:
Happiness, 'cause he's smiling;
Nostalgia, 'cause he's crying.

And the wind blows,
While flowers grapple to the field.
And everything looks perfect in the field,
But everything's so lonely in the field.

Colors gather to be seen,
A creek breaks the monotony,
Some birds are flying around.
Suddenly a tear appears to wet the skin,
The boy is tired, but he wrote with sincerity.

He stands like everything has been found
And there's nothing more to seek.
So he runs down the hills
Proud of his finale
He knows he's in the end.

Though it was good to be in the field,
He leaves, he knows he can't stay.
Now everything looks peaceful in the field,
But everything's so quiet in the field.
