Expired Aspirations

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

When it isn't near,
What a could should be.
And this is condoned to be known.
Heard and shown to hear complaints.
About time running out.
Why is this made more noticeable,
To observe and witnessed.
Coming out of the mouths,
Of those who choose to remain and sit.
Remaining to complain,
About others making efforts endeavored.
Done to make improvements.
And progress attempted to move forward.
Without accusing anyone doing nothing more,
But to lift and point fingers.
As if this to do,
Expresses their involvement.
Than the making of imprints where they sit.
On their expired aspirations.
With it then to expect to get paid,
For the act of it!

Yet...
Many will only appear to protest against,
Opportunities to come...
For those experienced and familiar,
With the definition and meaning...
Of work and the benefits of doing both,
Provides!
