And Now I Hate You

There once was a time,
When you were on my mind,
And I would always fight,
So you would be treated right.

Now it turns out,
That you weren't there,
To fight for me,
Against the real foe,
You.

And Now I Hate You,
I know their fight,
The big reveal.
Is that they're right.

I've been trying,
I've seen the truth,
Inside myself I've seen,
I'm better.

About this poem

Getting over someone you hate, when you used to defend them with the blind power of infatuation.
