Life Source
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
An angel showed me a river,
The river was water of life;
Bright as crystal made me shiver,
As it washed away all my strife.
From the throne of God and the Lamb,
Water that flowed so clear and pure;
Because God is the great, I AM,
Iniquities able to cure.
It flowed in the midst of the street,
Down the middle of the city;
As it had flowed around my feet,
As I sat down next to a tree.
A tree with its twelve kinds of fruit,
The tree of life yielding each week;
The tree nourishing through its root,
From the river, its root does seek.
The leaves of the tree for healing,
For the healing of the nation;
Of those bended down and kneeling,
To become a new creation.
There shall be no longer be cursed,
As His servants will worship Him;
And they will not hunger or thirst,
For they will be glad never grim.
They will see His face and His hands,
His name will be on their foreheads;
Willingly abide His commands,
Comforting them within their beds.
There will no longer be a night,
No need for candle of fire;
Neither having any sunlight,
His glory will light desire.
