She approached me
At the dish washing station
And in a stern voice
She said to me
That this is all brand new
I just bought this today
Man it was like
This woman knew something
About me that I didn’t know
She had me curious,
And at this point
She had my full attention
I still didn’t push it
I just sat back and waited
She was making moves
On me like professional
I could hear some
Of the other young woman
Call her Zesty Italian
When she left the kitchen
I was thinking "my brown eyed girl"

About this poem
Inspired by my encounter with a young woman I would work with at The British Open Pub in Venice Florida in 2019. It was all about chance encounters, and it helped lift my spirits during my journey, and to always be remembered…
