Sunsets

Martin Schimcek 1958 (El Campo Texas)

Sunsets

A splash of brilliance
Washed against the sky.
Sunsets are like watercolors
Spilled onto dusk.

A rainbow of blues, reds, and yellows
Appear each clear evening,
As the ball of fire falls from the heavens,
Blending. With the horizon.

Mother Nature’s children letting loose,
Finger-painting sunsets
Until they are gone,
And a new day has begun.

Romantic, colorful, and soothing
Likened to the soul
Imagination is the diary of the mind
Like sunsets are to moonlit nights.

A painter’s brush does not capture,
But only a glimpse of their beauty
Sunsets are a collage of feelings filled with pain and joy,
Spread across the canvas of the world.

About this poem

I have always been intrigued by the beauty, and awesomeness of Nature.
