FEAR

I could tell you a story about the first star and how she fell  too far from her lover the moon millions of light years away. I could tell you a story about a young boy called fate who tried to hide from the world and himself, or I could tell you a story about Fear who wore a hat of despair.
Fear is for the cold shoulder ed when we act like we've got the world placed precisely on our shoulders fearing nothing but ourselves.

Fear is for the earth when it boils and we feel ourselves getting cocooned in it like the heat which comes with madness.

Fear is for the long night when the sun hides for years and little ones are born, living and dying all in darkness as the grim reaper walks in the mask of night.

Fear once came as a Knight on a cold night that lasted a thousand generations, Kings froze to death in their castles, servants ravaged and the blood lust of warriors swoop the entire village. Women smouldered their babies with warm wrappers and wept tirelessly, as their tears froze on their faces rather than see them starve.

In that darkness, fear walked the earth for the first time in human form,  swept through kingdoms riding on their horses of dread hunting with their pack of anguish, big as the first giant that walked this earth, Until Audacity, with a blind dashing perplexity swung his sling in temerity, and landed the stone of on the head of fear, knocking fear out cold.

 Fear rose, wavered, for he had lost his will, his ego and his sight. He still staggers till this very day, weak but more cunning, listening for our vulnerabilities, waiting to sink his dagger in the heart of humanity. Fear still is, but it lingers.
