My Love Isn’t Light
My love isn’t fading
like clouds in the sun.
Like a rock with some grading,
it cannot be shun.
It stands cold at the top,
any fire at its feet.
Its streams won’t dry up
in the drought that they meet.
My love is for you
to hold with your grasp.
It has clear space to breath,
so you won’t have to gasp.
On its meadows you may play
and its ridges you may climb.
It will feel what you say
as your voice is its chime.
My love is a beacon,
that glitters with your name.
It remembers the Mohican,
and his true fights the same.
It will blossom on the fields
touched by your hands.
From its soft furrows’ shields
sweet fruits may ascend.
