Please don’t belittle me

Please Don’t Belittle Me

Please don’t belittle me because you are sad
Or make crass remarks that’s exaggerated fad

Remember that feeling when you were the joke
Feeling dejected and just like a dope

Lift up my spirits when I’m feeling down
So that I may pass it to others around

I only am human just like you are too
So treat me with kindness as I’ve done to you

Look in my heart for the goodness in me
No, I’m not perfect, nor your enemy

I’ll make some mistakes cause I’m of flesh and blood
Forgive me and please do not drag me through mud

Please don’t belittle me because you are mad
Remember my goodness and make my heart glad

Words can bring healing, a remedial cure
But also can make us feel so insecure

They also can calm and bring life to the heart
So try to be thoughtful with words you impart

Careful with pushy and mock criticism
Do it with taste so I will want to listen

Please don’t belittle me in my time of need
Please don’t belittle me, it won’t solve a thing

I often times take in the things seen and the things heard, no matter where I am in the world, and put them into a vision of words. more…
