NIGHT SPECTRES
Night spectres creeping
Through the town by night,
Following lone travellers
Wafting upwards like a kite.
Fear and trembling spreading
Through this wretched land,
Phantom beings fluttering
Above the sea-drenched sand.
Night apparitions floating
Beings translucent and hollow,
As couples stroll hand-in-hand
Shadowy creatures follow.
In the relentless night
Death is floating on high,
Innocents passing beneath
Very soon about to die.
Phantom beings fluttering
Along on the cool night wind,
Through this terrified town
Death and sorrow soon begin.
Night spectres creeping
Around the streets and alleyways,
Evil stalking the dreadful night
Then slinking off by break of day.
Night shadows hovering
Above a terror-struck town,
Floating above the rooftops
Until suddenly swooping down.
Down upon the innocents
Foolishly out into the streets,
Unaware of deadly shades
And death they soon will meet.
