THE HIDDEN CAVE

It stood covered in briar and bramble
Aged vines throbbing with retired sap a-drip- a-drop.
Webs woven by expired generation of spiders.
It stood covered from view and they by passed it.
Out yonder ,the song of satiated birds  and
The boastful roar of the King of the jungle
Reverberated in the grasslands
As innocent beetles  were crushed by Elephant feet.
The bees dozed in the sweetness of wax
As humped hyenas or were there humped
Like hunchbacks drooling and
ogling  the kill of  others.
It stood hidden in the pristine forest
Listening to the moody lover
Gurgling the fresh mouthwash from the
Distant mountain source.
It stood with its gems undiscovered
For no one had ventured deep
And maybe no one will
For it is still standing there.
