Ponderings from a Pretentious Painter

I prefer painting over writing.

I blend backgrounds, form fine lines, and mix matching colors
To create a remarkable replication of a reference image.
A finished painting produces feelings of fulfillment.
I smile, simply satisfied with the masterpiece I made.

A finished written work never truly feels finished.
I struggle to search for the right words and find phrases that fit.
Structuring sentences is more strenuous than stirring
Shades and hues of yellows, reds, and blues.

I never know if I’ve written something wonderful
Because it can always be better.
Writing means endless editing.

Painting means perfect, polished products.
