Take time to grieve my friend

A set back to your spirit
Recovery will take time
You may not want to hear it
but things will work out fine

Move forward with reflection
recalling all the chapters
that brought you joy and affection
or a smile and laughter

Some people bear more than most
and you carried your fair share
You didn’t leave your post
because you were always there

You were her foundation
when she needed the support
I admired your determination
to be all and not far short

Take all the time you need
to ponder while bereaved
and find a way to cede
recalling why you’ve grieved
