Phasing Out

When I think of you,

 I sometimes get the blues,

Yep, it's true

I did & do love you,

You had to do you though,

I wanted to be your home,

But we was at each others throats,

Not wanting to let go,

It sure has shown sum growth,

Lifting weights is what has kept your brain,

And this… I am definitely okay,

Your ways & my past crazy days,

Really drove each of us insane,

With such lil to say,

I stare at your poker face,

Pretending I won't lose my place,

You; I like to taste for days,

All snuggled in our cuddles,

What comes tomorrow?

You're like a dart,

Going straight into the heart,

Which is what has kept us apart,

Not feeling each others hearts,

This will surely give us an ajar,

Just like my car,

You didn't care if it fell apart,

This made me think hard,

I know you was playing your part,

But couldn't you of kept your heart,

Instead of hoping I would fall apart,

I just wanted to be in your arms,

You was so shallow,

And wouldn't allow it,

So here you find me sending a shoutout,

With no doubt,

I frown & take a bow,

And say…. What's the next route?

I'm phasing out,

I say f*ck the frown,

I ain't getting back down,

You needed & wanted out,

So take your turn & shout!

Melani A Britton

I've been a published poet with this site since I was 19 years old. Although, since they redid the website; I am unable to locate myself. It bums me out. My 1st poem is titled "Insight Of Love." My purpose is to hopefully reach out to people who may be experiencing a walk of life that is just not going well & may need some motivational words & let them know they're not walking alone. more…
