"I Want to Love You!"
Michael Gilbert 1952 (Springfield Ohio)
"I Want To Love You!"
I want to see you In the Spring-Time.
So I can bring you, flowers from the mountains.
I want to swim with you, in the Summer-Time.
So, I can give you Blue Pearls - from the Coral Reef of a Tropical Island!
I want to Soar High in the Winter Storm,
10,000 Feet Above the Silence of the Sea,
Whispering Your Name - Calling Your Spirit to Me!
I want to Reach Beyond the Full Pale-Gray Clouds in the Blue Full - Belly of the Darkened - Pregnant Sky.
So, I Can - Catch the First - Fresh Moistened - Virgin Snowflakes ❄❄ ❄ in my Frozen Frosty Heart's Chamber of Love; Just to Build You a Snowman Riding a Snow-White Unicorn - Across the Milky Way....
on that Special Day, I Gazed into Your Eyes and,
My Heart Bled Blue-Crystal Tears, as My Soul Cried,
and Echoed the Desert Thunder - to Reverse the Absence - of Lost Years. I Want to Hold Your Fingertips, Fly You to the Moon and Embrace You
in my waiting arms, Bedazzled by - Glowing Bright Stars in Your Ears and Stardust in Your Golden Hair!
I Want Your Love to Share; to make this Lifetime Fair, for without You, My World Remains Ever Darkened - Ever Bare! I Need to Feel the Embrace - of Your Magnetic Warmth; like the Earth Feels with the Rising Sun, 365 Days - of Its' Blazing Rays, as It Greets the Moon Above the Sea. I want our DNA to Intertwine and Create a Biological - Singularity of Pure Spiritual
Unifying Harmonic - Coexistence, like all the Planets, the Moons, the Stars; as the Sun Embraces other Galaxies and the Universality of Countless Universes.
I Want Your Energy to Flow like Air through the Feathers of Humming Bird: like Blood Flows through My Vein's and Arteries to Sustain the Life-Force of my Beating Heart
About this poem
This poem is about a man who has gone without love for 3 decades because he refuses to settle for just any woman. He reaches throughout the universe and stars and sends a heartfelt plea for his soulmate. He has suffered a lifetime of melancholy blues, alone, no one to send roses to, nor, share his treasured and guarded love.
