Tucked Away

Stacy Harris 1985 (Jacksonville, Florida)

There are often days
where I desperately attempt to evade
the light of the sun's rays
 and disappear
within the safety of my room, with blankets over my head, hiding,
tucked away in my bed
as I imagine I am sinking into a world where I am once again a careless little girl, and all the worries of Life fall behind me...

About this poem

Everyone has those days where they just rather not leave the comfort of their bed, when confronting the worries of the world seems too much of a task. This poem is dedicated to those days.
