Where Do I Stand?

Maxie 1984 (Rizal)

I have no idea how long you can stay,
I always do fear;
I'm starting to think of you too frequently,
You're becoming someone so dear.

How can I be certain that you're serious w/ me?
That your love is true?
Can you give me any assurance?
Something that I can hold on to.

Right now, I'm starting to feel,
A feeling so mushy and light;
I can't get you out of my head,
You're all I think of every day and every night.

You made it way too easy for me
To fall in love with you;
But how am I to know,
That your feelings are true?

Please, please do something,
Te ease my troubled heart;
I am an intelligent woman, but when it comes to this,
I'm afraid I'm not so smart.

So if you're just looking for a pastime
And chose me to play the part;
Please, I beg you, spare me the pain
Because I have a very weak heart.

If you don't like me that way I like you
Please don't act as if you do;
Cause I might really lose myself,
If you turn out to be fake and untrue.

Mom of 3. Poetry is my first love and have written a lot back when I was in high school... and then, life happens. Ideas and rhymes dried up. But the other day I was going through old stuff and found my collections of poems that I've written back in the day. Hoping to share an immortalize them especially for my kids. So that they'll know mommy was really cool once :D more…
