Sail Home

Sarah Rayan 1982 (Kuwait City)

No one loves you at the bottom and I've seen the ocean floor, I've been swimming long enough to know how much I need the shore

Vessels navigate the waters, only guided by the light, of the one I must forget, as I sail home tonight, to open arms, holding me so tight

Let me leave the dock by midnight, to arrive by dawn on land, the party must go on, with the past, buried in the sand

The wolves may always howl, until you set me free, to join my people; sail home, where I must be; and let go forever, of the diva of the sea
