The Righteous Kingdom
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
A King will reign in righteousness,
As a prince will rule in justice;
Having a holy godliness,
In guiding the moral compass.
Each will be like a hiding place,
A shelter from the storm and wind;
Like streams of water giving grace,
And great rock that is disciplined.
The eyes of those who see will shut,
The ears those who hear will be deaf;
Since their life will soon be cut,
As they will experience death.
The heart in haste will understand,
As the tongue will stammer to speak;
The King will decree His command,
To all of those humbled and weak.
The fool will no more be stately,
As the scoundrel has been vile;
Their attitude has come lately,
Of an immoral lifestyle.
Because the fool speaking folly,
Heart busy with iniquity;
Seeking pleasure to be jolly,
Losing all of His dignity.
He practices hypocrisy,
Craving hunger for the depraved;
Temptations for apostasy,
To be immorally enslaved.
The scoundrel has thoughts of evil,
Wicked plans to ruin the poor;
Since they were coached by the devil,
With enticement that is hard-core.
But the noble plans noble things,
On the noble things which he stands;
Of which godly goodness it brings,
In coming from the righteous hands.
