The Only One Who Ever Loved Me

Sarah Rayan 1982 (Kuwait City)

I did my time, away from home, in a prison with no bars, the only one who ever loved me, shares my invisible scars, and knows I deserve, legs to walk on land; wings, to fly to the stars

I defend only the moon, who guides me through it all, as I make the tides rise, the only one who ever loved me, lets them fall, and tames all the wolves, but never makes me crawl

Some dressed like sheep, others, in their own clothes, the only one who ever loved me, knows what my heart chose, to set my people free, is the key, but all the answers, only heaven knows
