I Don't Regret Loving You

I regret your graceful hands, soft and warm
For I am not the one to caress them
To comfort you through life’s every storm

I regret your beautiful lips, thick and sweet
For I am not the one to kiss them
To pour love into you where our lips do meet

I regret your dazzling eyes, deep and bright
For I am not the one to behold them
To gaze at a beautiful woman, day and night

I regret your radiant smile, wide and kind
For I am not the one to enjoy it
To burn in bliss, for a smile as gold I did find

I regret your musical laugh, lovely and endearing
For I am not the one to hear it
To enjoy great music as we age and death nearing

I regret the passing years, slow and plentiful
For I am not the one you share it with
To live this one life together, our joy bountiful

My heart regrets all these except this one thing
It cannot regret loving you
My love tramps each regret; to this end I cling
