Am, I against Me
AMG 1980 (Lagos)
I deeply taught him in me but,
He simply thought he is me
So I drag to own my will
Then, he grapple to take the wheel
This tussle, though cruel
Is actually a friendly chaos
I hath lost it all, readily
Before him, already
How can him that I am
A body that I was
In a world which I dearly built
In which now we deathly brawl
Carved in anger
Writs in fury, froze in anguish
Nothing but fiercefully
Buried in fued
How my dreams, he denied
My wish, he debunked
My plans, tarnished back in violence
Plainly muddled his filthy hands on them
For I prayed, for he cursed
Great hope turns tsunami
Grand hankering is tuning tornadoes
Is it white, nor it is red
This is were I will say stop
Accord me the sculls, tout de suite!
For who is him that is leading my part
In each directions when chosen
I was not a party to this
This destiny is not of mine
But I shall never bequeathed,
Even if I won and steer in disgust
And to the vague phase we all held aback
Willing to crash or to crush
Then, this my humble face shall rise again
To befriend the sunshine in tearful smile
Even though he told it to me
I still felt the alacrity is mine
As it flew through my meandering mind
My query - my golden quarry,
A freshly hail
In not so holy grail
A duelling duet
Drowned in dirty dew
Thus, I asked him in my melancholy
Am I me or are my you
Are you him,
Is him, I?
