Engaging glory.

Your face; glorious beauty engages mine.
The spring in my step felt so devine.
To pass you by, to pass you by without a sly or lustful smile. And for a while I held it close in memories eye so I could boast...
I past you by and I could cry for twas an angel by my side. And all but you could surely fly, as my love would lift you to the sky, if I had naught just passed you by.
And if my dear you'd seen my tears and come to me through all my fears, surely I would be looking at jewels and in my heart  set fire to fuel. Then you might sigh and ask me why I passed you by. Goodbye my sweetheart, goodbye - never again to feel love, oh my. Only in heaven to see you again.

I wonder how many have felt the pain and pleasure of love and lost love. I know the beauty and sensation of acquired love and that there is nothing like it on earth. I, too, know the sting of love lost and the unrelenting sorrow it can bring. This poem was all of that and then some. Thank you for sharing your humanness with us, Heather. This was a high-low trip down memory lane for me. :-)
