Boxcar Willy

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Specific and explicit as the text would seem to be
Yet you don’t want to seem to take it very literally

Women are gracious and women are kind
As long as you do their will
But if you don’t, you better watch out
You’re the next one to be killed

You thought you married an angel
But she was a devil inside
To her you’re just another boxcar
And she’s just along for the ride

Sometimes you have to unhook the cars
To let another one or two in
So, she just keeps hopping from car to car
And all of her ways are sin
