Oh how I love the water

Eliza Cook 1818 (London Road, Southwark) – 1889 (Wimbledon)

Oh, how I love the water
And even long to be
A bird, a boat, or anything
That dwells upon the sea

About this poem

This poem was on a calendar that I had in the 1970s. I memorized these 4 lines because I hold them dear to my heart for my heart for myself. I've searched for years to find the entire poem.
