Made Complex For Simplicity

the difficulty is simplicity
the mounts and hills, the violent terrain
the gnawing gnat, made
resplendent with shame.

so gray with fever, every light is dim
simplicity begins to churn again
duplicity is rage
in willing one closer, I drive one
further—into space, time
and anguish.

a palm of beads, deaths in braids
unbridled acrimony, glitter on
pain
some plate filled with weeds, to
partake with seasoning, to make it
delicate, sweet, merciful.

to live off of crumbs
excited to stumble by—
on accident, for it wasn’t meant
the greatness of the miracle—
compacted by the impossibility
of its actuality.

tender harmonica, softer flute, in time
to form roses, made of seed, soil
slander; accursed to exist
forbidden to live, some fierce ink

in those omissions:

the fullness of the raft
the leaping of the frog
at a given moment, seeming divine;
the galloping of the inferno
the horse watching with grace
wings span across the forest.

I come to nothingness, as I
entered, the world is empty.

pains made amaranth, at peak in
a dome in a time in a space; the
easiness of simplicity, the harsh
cruel impact of easiness—much
pride comes with complexity.

made
philosophic, holding by breastplate
helmet to concrete.
