The hand she's dealt

Elizabeth Lacy 1964 (Denver)

Devastated and alone,
 she sits in her home.
 Tears roll down her face,
 Meaningless things fill her space.
Anger and confusion fill her mind,
Praying for love she'll never find.
Reality consumes thoughts in the night,
and thoughts of suicide she constantly fights.
Wondering about her purpose in life,
Why is there only struggles & strife.
She prays to that God above,
for only one thing, just a little love.
Hating who she is like everyone else,
No understanding of her own self.
She looks at the people surrounding her,
Until everything becomes a blur.
Wishing that life would come to an end,
No more lonely moments will she spend.
Gratitude is the thing she tries to feel,  awakened to another empty day she'll deal.
