Sparkle, The Christmas Cardinal

Sparkle  The Christmas Cardinal
By : Ed Kielkucki
Christmas will be late, this year,
The word from Santa, “No Holiday Cheer “
His reindeer are sick, in bed with the flu.
Santa is worried and doesn’t know what to do.

The elves continue to work, making the Christmas toys,
All made with Love, for the good little girls and boys.
The sleigh is ready all shiny and new,
But without the reindeer, what will we do?

When from out in the distance, from mountains so high,
Way up in a tree, almost touching the sky.
The sound of music, ringing out so clear,
From a tiny red cardinal…It’s Christmas Cheer!

The sounds so pleasant, it makes you feel great,
Like medicine for the reindeer, it’s not too late.
Her name is Sparkle, its Santa’s pet bird,
Singing the sounds of Christmas, no one has ever heard.

Can Sparkle save Christmas with her holiday cheer?
Only time will tell, as Christmas time grows near!
So Santa asks Sparkle to join him on this special night,
Keeping the reindeer happy, and Christmas magic in sight.

Singing out her songs with holiday festive joy,
Helping  save Christmas, for every girl and boy.
Perched high on the sleigh in her holiday red,
Our cardinal sings the reindeer, right out of bed.

To deliver from Santa, his gifts of Peace, Love & Cheer,
It’s Sparkle the cardinal, who saved Christmas this year!
So when you see a cardinal, sitting way up in a tree,
Remember this holiday story and what will always be.
