Africa ( Tale of a Promised Land)

AFRICA
(The tale of the Promised Land).
Poem by Joanita Kamukara.
Africa is culture,
Africa is the language,
Africa is the music,
Africa is the art.

The shades tell it all,
The length of the roots,
That lasts through generations,
Beauty as it is embraced,
We show the world what it is.

The sketch of the boundaries,
Filled with mountains and rivers,
Wild beasts and flowers we have,
Cocoa, coffee, shea that we take.

The roots as a story will be retold,
The same as that of the ancestors,
We are all children of dust,
It’s the image that we are born with,
As a sign and mark of brotherhood.

They say black is disturbing,
But I tell you black is peace,
We multiply Kings and Queens,
Luther, Mandela, Tubman, Dubois and Graca Machel
Yes! We are Africa.
