o'er the many hours

Gene Miranda 1963 (Texas)

Fading from sight
into the darkness of the night
was the satellite in it's flight
The owl it does fly by our side
with nary an attempt to hide
from its perch in the tree
I can see it just as it can see me
O' those clouds of gray
   they wont dampen my day
for they're not here to stay
wait long enough and they'll be down your way
Last star and the moon
  they'll be gone real soon
     meteorite and satellites
         long gone from my sights

About this poem

Moved out to Az in 2014 and the southwest unlocked thoughts as I visited the desert, mountains, ancient native sites and gazed into the night sky more…
