why does love suck

what if i'm in love with the idea of you

the person I envisioned in my head,

the one I created scenarios about?

what if you are the complete opposite?

and i go in head first

carrying my ruptured heart.

But the way I feel about you is transparent

the old conversations I recall

the nights speaking thinking of you

the way my soul was created to fit yours,

I hate that i'm frightened

but i want to be wary.
