Waiting for you

Door is open, please come in!
Waiting for you, good evening!

But, wait a while before you come,
The mat on my door says, “Welcome”
On the mat shake off your anger and hostility
Dust down and wipe off all the negativity

Toss your ego into the trash bin by the side
Along with it throw the conceit but keep the pride

Into the letter box empty your past bitterness
And on my door sill leave your weariness

Transfer your problems into the packet in your hand
I will take it and vanish the evils with magic wand

A bud has just blossomed into a lovely smile
Pluck it from my flower pot and wear it on your profile

From the kids playing outside, borrow some naughtiness
And from the chirping birds on gulmohar, take the liveliness

The sky above I have decorated with colours
And held the twilight a bit longer for you
The sweet fragrance I have sprinkled in the air
And frozen the magical time just for you

With smile on your lips, naughtiness in eyes,
Happiness in mind, liveliness in your stride,
Look at our nameplate with song in your heart
Enter my house, my dear sweetheart

Wearing your favourite dress, and with hot tea for you
I am waiting for you, waiting for you, waiting for you!
